National Guard Chief Visits Dachau


 

Two National Guard divisions, the 42nd and the 45th, liberated Dachau in April of 1945.

LTG H. Steven Blum, the Chief of the National Guard Bureau, visited the Dachau Camp Memorial as he headed to a trip through Germany and the Balkans supporting the State Partnership Program.

It’s the Chief’s belief that the State Partnership Program can help fulfill “Never Again” by fostering relationships with foreign nations. At the very least, his stop at Dachau is a sobering reminder of why we fight.
