Jewish Casualty in Afghan Crash

Army Specialist Daniel J. Freeman was identified as one of the 15 Americans killed in a helicopter crash last week.

From the Cincinnati Enquirer:

Freeman was a paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, a group known as the Red Devils, based in Vicenza, Italy.

He was returning from a mission on the Army CH-47 Chinook helicopter. A heavy sandstorm is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Freeman’s exposure to the military began early. He was born in California and lived there only a short time before the family moved to Israel.
