Each year, the Jewish War Veterans of the USA awards four educational grants at the Annual National Convention in August to high school seniors who are direct descendants (children, grand-children and great grand-children) of members in good standing.

A number of different grants are available ranging from $1000 to $1500. Applications for these programs are due May 1, 2014.

Applicants must be a high school senior at the time of application and accepted by an accredited college, university, community college, or hospital school of nursing as a member of the freshman class entering in the fall of the year the student graduates. Applicants are judged on academic achievement, standardized tests, class standing, and extracurricular and community activities.

In addition to the youth grants, the JWV also sponsors an essay contest for current servicemembers and veterans who plan to attend or are currently attending an accredited Associates, Bachelor’s, or Nursing degree program.

These grants range from $1000 to $2500. These applications are due May 30, 2014

More information, including online applications are available at the JWV website.
