Hebrew School Thanks
The New Jersey Sentinel reports on a Hebrew School that had a special military guest.
Sgt. Kathleen Rickard of the U.S. Army’s 174th Transportation Battalion visited the school to personally thank them for their support of Jewish troops over Passover and throughout the year.
It’s a great little story. I can imagine that this small gesture made such an amazing impression on the kids (just as their gesture made a huge impact on the troops). I would certainly encourage others to do something similar.
It might take some extra effort on my part, but if there are any OIF/OEF veterans who received packages from synagogues or schools, I might be able to match you up with some groups who sent stuff in your area. Even if you didn’t receive something from that specific group, I’m sure they would be thrilled to hear from you.
